Eagles WR Riley Cooper apologizes for using N-word

Crossing Broad has released video of Eagles wide receiver Riley Cooper using a racial epithet at a Kenny Chesney concert. In the video, he is seen telling another person that he will “jump this fence and fight every n***er here.”

Cooper, who is white, has apologized on Twitter since then.

“I am so ashamed and disgusted with myself. I want to apologize. I have been offensive. I have apologized to my coach, Jeffrey Lurie, and Howie roseman and to my teammates. I owe an apology to the fans and to this community. I am so ashamed, but there are no excuses. What I did Was wrong and I will accept the consequences,” he said over a series of three tweets from his account @RileyCooper_14.

Cooper had a chance to do something special this season with Jeremy Maclin out for the year with a torn ACL, but now it will be interested to see if his African-American teammates can look past what he said and will still accept him as a teammate.
